There were 4 sessions today on all kinds of topics. The highlight were the sessions on implementing the NGSS/CCSS/ELD standards, as well as one one having fun with the engineering method. Hopefully I can take these strategies to help my students as soon as this week! Stay tuned for day 2.
Doing some work today in a nice air conditioned coffee shop! The goal today: start to consolidate and organize the copious amount of new materials.
Here is a killer website for Social Studies/History Big History Project https://www.bighistoryproject.com/home This website lays out the history of the Earth in a unique and innovative way. There are activities, videos, vocabulary, and projects for the different portions of our history. Although I will only be using portions of the units dedicated to early humans and ancient civilizations, this site is incredibly well done
